ScarWork is the genius invention of the gifted Sharon Wheeler who, at the age of 22, trained with Dr. Ida Rolf in 1970. Sharon has been researching and evolving ScarWork for the past 45 years.

ABOUT ScarWork:

Scar tissue is very dense fascia with unique properties, and working with it is like speaking a different language in the world of connective tissue. ScarWork uses a light, casual touch and is rarely painful, and the amount of change in one intervention is extensive. Lumps, gaps, ridges, holes, bumps, knots, and strings in the tissue rapidly smooth out into a three dimensional fascial web. ScarWork starts with surface layers, going further into involved viscera which often reduces nerve-impaired numbness and results in large, whole-body shifts and trauma resolution.

As a post-surgical intervention, ScarWork:

*Reduces swelling, tightness and numbing

*Improves general overall tissue functions

*Cosmetically helps restore natural appearance

*Is fast, painless and permanent

*Is physician recommended

The tail end of the body receives a generous number of accidental impacts. These impacts can distort the relationship between the bones and they also distort the shape of the bones in the region; the sacrum, coccyx, pelvis, and femur. Sharon will give a guided tour of structural landmarks through this complex region. These landmarks give you a guide to help evaluate good structure from damaged structure. Relevant Structural Integration work will be included as well as specialized Bonework for the remediation of damaged, distorted bones throughout the region. Students will exchange sessions and we will have models for practice with supervision.

Certified in Structural Integration in 1970, Sharon Wheeler was one of Dr. Rolf’s “Artistic Experiments”. She has been certified in Rolf Movement® since 1971. She teaches Continuing Education workshops on Scarwork, Bonework, the Cranium, the Tail End, and the Art of Structural Integration.
